High-Definition Performance with Native 12-Bit Resolution
At the heart of the UPO2000HD series is UNI-T’s R12™ native 12-bit ADC architecture. With 4,096 vertical quantization levels, the instruments provide 16 times the vertical detail of conventional 8-bit oscilloscopes while maintaining 12-bit resolution at the full rated bandwidth and sample rate. This increased resolution is especially valuable when measuring low-amplitude signals, power-supply ripple, sensor outputs, and other small variations riding on larger signals.
The series includes six configurations:
- UPO2072HD — 70 MHz, 2 channels
- UPO2074HD — 70 MHz, 4 channels
- UPO2102HD — 100 MHz, 2 channels
- UPO2104HD — 100 MHz, 4 channels
- UPO2202HD — 200 MHz, 2 channels
- UPO2204HD — 200 MHz, 4 channels
All six models share a 2.5 GSa/s real-time sampling rate, 100 Mpts memory depth, and 10.1-inch touchscreen interface.

Ultra Phosphor 3.0 for Fast and Elusive Events
The UPO2000HD series incorporates UNI-T’s Ultra Phosphor 3.0 acquisition architecture to make transient and intermittent events easier to find. Sequence mode supports waveform capture rates of up to 1,000,000 wfms/s, while 256-level persistence provides a visual representation of waveform density.
This high-speed acquisition is particularly useful when troubleshooting glitches, runts, jitter, switching abnormalities, or other events that may occur too briefly or infrequently to be easily observed with conventional acquisition methods. Zone triggering and the enhanced digital trigger system further help users isolate unusual or non-repeating signal behavior.
Deep Memory for Long-Duration Signal Analysis
With 100 Mpts of standard memory, the UPO2000HD series can capture long signal records without requiring an optional memory upgrade. At the full 2.5 GSa/s sampling rate, the memory can capture extended events such as power-converter startup sequences, fault recovery, burst-mode operation, and other long-duration waveforms.
The deep memory is complemented by waveform recording capabilities, hardware mask testing, and enhanced-resolution functions, giving engineers more tools for investigating signals that extend beyond a single short acquisition.
Comprehensive Protocol Analysis
The UPO2000HD series includes nine serial-bus protocol decoders as standard: RS-232/UART, I²C, SPI, CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay, SENT, and Audio. Because decoding and triggering are integrated into the oscilloscope, engineers can correlate digital communication with analog waveform behavior on the same instrument.
For example, an engineer can examine an I²C transaction alongside a supply-rail disturbance or correlate CAN-FD activity with a control-signal or power-stage event. Event lists and search functions also make it easier to navigate large captures and locate specific protocol activity.
Advanced Power Analysis
For power electronics applications, the optional UPO2000HD power-analysis package expands the oscilloscope’s capabilities with 12 dedicated measurement and analysis functions. These include power quality, harmonic analysis, current harmonics, RDS(on), switching loss, slew rate, safe operating area (SOA), modulation analysis, output ripple, startup/shutdown time, transient response, and power efficiency.
These capabilities make the UPO2000HD series particularly useful for validating switching converters, regulators, power supplies, and other power-electronic systems. Engineers can perform time-domain measurements and advanced power calculations on the same instrument, reducing the need to move data between multiple pieces of test equipment.
The power-analysis option uses UNI-T’s lifetime-unlock approach, meaning optional functionality is activated through a one-time purchase rather than a recurring subscription.
Built-In Spectrum Analysis and Automated Measurements
Beyond oscilloscope measurements, the UPO2000HD series incorporates FFT-based spectrum analysis with up to 4 Mpts of FFT data. The spectrum analyzer supports multiple traces, detection modes, markers, and waterfall visualization, making it useful for examining harmonics, switching noise, clock components, and potential EMI sources.
The instruments also provide 56 automated measurement parameters, along with statistical analysis, histograms, and trend displays. These tools allow engineers to monitor measurement distributions and characterize signal behavior directly on the oscilloscope without requiring separate post-processing. Trend US
Intuitive 10.1-Inch Touchscreen Interface
The UPO2000HD series features a 10.1-inch, 1280 × 800 capacitive multi-touch display designed to make waveform navigation and analysis intuitive. Users can pinch, drag, zoom, and draw measurement or trigger regions while continuing to use the instrument’s physical controls.
The touchscreen interface can be combined with a mouse and keyboard, giving engineers flexibility in both bench and laboratory environments. HDMI output also allows the instrument’s display to be connected to an external monitor or projector for demonstrations and collaborative analysis.
Flexible Remote Control and Connectivity
The UPO2000HD series provides a comprehensive connectivity package that includes USB, LAN, HDMI, AUX, and external trigger interfaces. SCPI support enables integration into automated test systems and PC-based measurement software, while the built-in WebServer allows users to access and control the oscilloscope through a web browser.
These capabilities make the UPO2000HD suitable for automated testing, remote laboratory environments, production validation, and engineering workflows where instruments need to be controlled or monitored from a computer.
Compact, Versatile Bench Design
Designed as a multifunctional bench instrument, the UPO2000HD combines oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, digital voltmeter, frequency counter, protocol analyzer, and optional power-analysis functions in a single chassis. This six-in-one approach can reduce the amount of equipment required for everyday development and troubleshooting.
The 10.1-inch display and compact bench-oriented design make the series suitable for engineering laboratories, educational facilities, production environments, and embedded-development workstations.
Ideal Applications
The UPO2000HD series is designed for a broad range of professional and educational applications. For embedded development, its 12-bit resolution, deep memory, protocol decoding, and FFT analysis provide the tools needed for board bring-up and signal debugging. In power electronics, four-channel configurations can simultaneously monitor switching nodes, gate-drive signals, output rails, and control signals, while the optional power-analysis suite adds specialized measurements.
For automotive and industrial electronics, the built-in CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay, and SENT decoding capabilities simplify communication-bus troubleshooting. In education and training environments, the large touchscreen, integrated analysis tools, and broad measurement capabilities allow multiple laboratory functions to be taught using a single instrument.
The UPO2000HD is also well suited to general R&D, signal-integrity investigation, sensor characterization, production testing, and applications where higher vertical resolution is more important than the extremely high bandwidth found in premium high-speed oscilloscopes.
