UNI-T UTE9800+ Series: Compact Single-Phase Power Meters for Production Testing and Power Measurement

August 29, 2026 – The UNI-T UTE9800+ series provides a versatile lineup of compact single-phase digital power meters designed for accurate, efficient electrical measurement in production, quality inspection, appliance testing, lighting applications, and power electronics. The family includes three specialized models—the UTE9802+, UTE9806+, and UTE9811+—covering AC/DC true-RMS measurement, low-current AC testing, and harmonic analysis. With measurements up to 600 V and 20 A, 0.1% basic accuracy, rapid data refresh, and RS-232/RS-485 communication, the UTE9800+ series combines reliable measurement performance with the connectivity required for modern production environments.

Three Models for Specialized Power Measurement

The UTE9800+ series is designed around three distinct measurement requirements rather than a simple entry-to-premium progression. Each model provides a specialized set of functions for a particular testing environment.

The UTE9802+ is the most versatile option, supporting AC, DC, and AC+DC true-RMS measurement with voltage measurements from 3 V to 600 V and current measurements from 0.5 mA to 20 A. The UTE9806+ is optimized for low-current AC applications, measuring from 0.05 mA to 10 A while adding apparent-power and peak measurements. The UTE9811+ is designed for harmonic and distortion analysis, measuring up to the 50th harmonic order while supporting voltage and current measurements up to 600 V and 20 A.

Key Features of the UTE9800+ Series:

Accurate Measurement for Production Environments

The UTE9800+ series is designed with production testing in mind. Its compact chassis, straightforward display, fast data refresh, and communication interfaces allow the meters to be incorporated into manufacturing workflows where consistent measurements and repeatable test procedures are essential.

The meters can display key electrical parameters simultaneously, including voltage, current, power, power factor, and frequency. This provides operators with the information needed to quickly determine whether a product or power source meets defined test requirements.

For production environments, the series also supports audible and visual alarm functions for pass/fail testing. This makes it possible to establish measurement limits and quickly identify products that fall outside acceptable ranges.

UTE9802+: Flexible AC/DC True-RMS Measurement

The UTE9802+ is the general-purpose model in the UTE9800+ family and is particularly suited to applications where both AC and DC measurement are required. It measures voltage from 3 V to 600 V and current from 0.5 mA to 20 A, with power measurements ranging from 1 W to 12 kW.

Its AC, DC, and AC+DC true-RMS modes allow engineers to measure conventional AC signals as well as DC buses and mixed or rectified waveforms. This makes the instrument useful for power supplies, converters, appliances, and other equipment where an AC-only power meter may not provide sufficient information.

The UTE9802+ also provides voltage and current resolution down to 0.01 V and 0.1 mA, respectively, while supporting measurement bandwidth from DC through 400 Hz.

UTE9806+: Low-Current AC Power Testing

The UTE9806+ is optimized for applications where accurate low-current AC measurement is especially important. Its current range extends from just 0.05 mA to 10 A, making it well suited to applications such as standby-power testing and low-power consumer electronics.

In addition to voltage, current, power, power factor, and frequency, the UTE9806+ measures apparent power as well as peak voltage and peak current. These additional measurements provide engineers with a more complete picture of equipment behavior under operating and standby conditions.

The model also incorporates limit and alarm functions, making it particularly useful for production environments where operators need a quick visual or audible indication when a measured value falls outside predefined limits.

UTE9811+: Integrated Harmonic Analysis

For applications where harmonic content and waveform distortion are important, the UTE9811+ adds harmonic analysis capabilities to the UTE9800+ platform. It supports harmonic measurement through the 50th order and provides THD and crest-factor measurements in addition to voltage, current, power, power factor, and frequency.

The UTE9811+ is especially well suited to lighting and electrical-appliance testing, where engineers may need to evaluate power factor, harmonic distortion, and current characteristics. Its 40 Hz to 70 Hz measurement bandwidth is tailored to the fundamental-frequency applications for which harmonic analysis is commonly required.

Clear Four-Window Measurement Display

The UTE9800+ series uses a color segment LCD with four measurement windows, allowing multiple electrical parameters to be viewed simultaneously. Operators can monitor critical values without repeatedly navigating between measurement screens.

This straightforward interface is particularly beneficial in production environments, where test operators need to verify results quickly and consistently. The compact front-panel design also makes the instruments practical for both bench use and integration into test racks.

Fast Measurement and Pass/Fail Testing

Production testing often requires more than simply obtaining an accurate measurement—it also requires obtaining that measurement quickly and determining whether the product passes.

The UTE9800+ series provides adjustable data-refresh intervals ranging from 0.1 seconds to 5 seconds, allowing users to balance measurement stability and test throughput. Audible and visual alarm functions can provide immediate feedback when measurement limits are exceeded.

These capabilities make the series well suited for repetitive quality-control processes involving appliances, lighting products, power tools, motors, and other single-phase equipment.

Remote Control and Automated Test Integration

The UTE9800+ series includes RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces for communication with computers and automated test systems. SCPI and Modbus support allow engineers to integrate measurements into software-controlled workflows, collect production data, and automate test sequences.

For production facilities, this connectivity can reduce manual data entry and improve test consistency. Multiple meters can also be incorporated into broader manufacturing or quality-assurance systems where electrical measurements need to be recorded and evaluated automatically.

Compact Design for Bench and Production Use

With a compact chassis measuring approximately 214 × 88.2 × 340 mm and weighing about 3.3 kg, the UTE9800+ is designed to fit comfortably into both bench and rack-oriented testing environments.

The rugged design also incorporates silicone-protected corners to provide additional protection during everyday industrial use. This combination of compact size and durable construction makes the series practical for environments where instruments may be moved between test stations or integrated directly into production equipment.

Ideal Applications

The UTE9800+ series is designed for a wide range of single-phase electrical testing applications.

In production quality inspection, the fast update rate, limit alarms, and communication interfaces make the meters suitable for repetitive pass/fail testing. In power-supply and converter testing, the UTE9802+ provides AC, DC, and AC+DC true-RMS measurements for evaluating input and output power characteristics.

For standby-power measurement, the UTE9806+’s low-current capability provides the sensitivity needed to evaluate equipment operating at very low power levels. In lighting and appliance testing, the UTE9811+ provides harmonic, THD, and crest-factor measurements for evaluating distortion and power-quality characteristics.

The series is also suitable for power-tool testing, electric-motor manufacturing, consumer-appliance production, lighting manufacturing, service laboratories, and automated test systems where reliable single-phase power measurements are required.

Choosing the Right UTE9800+ Model

Selecting the appropriate UTE9800+ model depends primarily on the type of signal and measurements required.

The UTE9802+ is the best choice for general-purpose AC/DC power measurement and applications involving mixed AC and DC signals. The UTE9806+ is better suited to low-current AC applications where standby power and peak measurements are important. The UTE9811+ is the specialized choice for applications requiring harmonic analysis, THD, and crest-factor measurements.

All three models are single-phase 1P2W instruments, so applications requiring three-phase measurement should instead use a dedicated UNI-T three-phase power meter such as the UTE323 series.
